ATMAE Accreditation Resources for Technology, Management & Applied Engineering Programs

Tools, Templates & Documentation for Accreditation

ATMAE’s Accreditation Resources provide the official documents, standardized templates, and procedural materials required for institutions pursuing initial accreditation or reaccreditation. These resources ensure consistency in format, alignment with the 2027 Accreditation Standards, and uniform review across all programs in technology, management, and applied engineering.

Institutions are expected to use the required fill-in-the-blank templates for self-studies and progress reports. Progress reports must clearly document how previously identified partial and/or non-compliances have been corrected and brought into compliance. All materials support a structured, transparent, and outcomes-based accreditation process grounded in accountability and continuous improvement.

ATMAE Accreditation Standards & Core Documents

These documents define the accreditation criteria and procedural rules used in all reviews under the 2027 Accreditation Standards.

Self-Study Report Preparation

Institutions preparing for accreditation or reaccreditation can use ATMAE’s structured resources to ensure consistent, standards-aligned documentation.  These materials provide a clear structure and formatting reference for submitting self-study reports under the 2027 Accreditation Standards. (Note: The sample is provided for formatting purposes only; its content is not guaranteed to meet ATMAE accreditation standards.)

Progress Report Preparation

Progress reports document how programs have addressed previously identified partial or non-compliances. This section includes fill-in-the-blank Progress Report Templates (2024 and 2021 Standards) and a Sample Progress Report Example. These resources ensure institutions provide clear, consistent, and complete updates on corrective actions and evidence of compliance for Board review.

Follow-Up Visits

Institutions required to complete a follow-up visit must submit a Follow-Up Visit Request to assist ATMAE with scheduling the visit. Follow-up visits are generally conducted between March 1 and May 1. Institutions will be asked to identify three preferred weeks, with the specific visit date finalized after coordination with the assigned visiting team member.

A completed Progress Report (templates above) addressing the partial and/or non-compliance findings identified in the institution’s visiting team report and accreditation outcome letter must be submitted at least 30 days before the scheduled follow-up visit. Institutions should use the progress report template corresponding to the accreditation standards under which they were evaluated.
