Why Get Certified?
The Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE, formerly known as NAIT) certification program recognizes individual certified members who have met certain professional standards to become certified and to maintain their certification. ATMAE currently operates two programs, the Certified Technology Manager program, CTM & CSTM (formerly called Certified Industrial Technologist, CIT & CSIT) and the Certified Manufacturing Specialist program, CMS & CSMS.
Benefits of Certification:
- ATMAE Certification announces that you have recognized expertise in a specific field, a mark of distinction that sets you apart. Certification requires obtaining a college degree and passing a certification examination.
- ATMAE Certification provides external validation of your knowledge and competence among others not familiar with the profession, improving your marketability.
- ATMAE Certification shows your commitment to the profession and your own professional growth, factors that can affect career advancement.
- ATMAE Certification at the senior level requires a dedication to continuing education, promoting your continued growth and development as a professional. Certified Senior Technology Managers (CSTM) and Certified Senior Manufacturing Specialists (CSMS) must report 30 hours of continuing education over a 3-year certification period.
- ATMAE Certification may persuade your employer to underwrite educational activities that support your professional development and your company's continuous improvement efforts.
- ATMAE Certification provides a link between you, ATMAE and the professional community.
