The following criteria must be followed when selecting individuals for inclusion in the Industrial Technology Leadership Series:

1. The individual must have significantly impacted the development and/or growth of the discipline of Industrial Technology over an extended period of time. Their efforts must be regional or national in scope and must extend beyond individual programs and/or institutions.
2. The individual must have been an active member of the National Association of Industrial Technology over an extended period of time and provided substantial leadership and/or support for Association activities and/or programs.
3. Individuals who have received the Charles W. Keith Award, who are Honorary Members of the Association, or who are members of the Charles Keith Circle shall be given consideration for listing in the Industrial Technology Leadership Series.

Individuals who have served as the Chair of the Executive Board of the National Association of Industrial Technology and who are current Professional or Retired members of the Association shall serve as the Selection Committee for the Industrial Technology Leadership Series program.

The following selection process shall be followed in identifying and selecting individuals for the Industrial Technology Leadership Series:

1. Nominations may be submitted by any active Professional member of the Association. Nominations are due by June 1 each year and must include supporting documentation related to each of the selection criteria.
2. The Executive Director shall submit all nominations with supporting documentation to the Selection Committee by July 1 of each year along with a ballot.
3. The mail ballots must be returned by August 1 of each year and this requirement must be clearly stated on the ballot.
4. A quorum of at least one half of the members of the selection committee shall submit ballots in order for the Selection Committee to take action on a nomination.
5. Candidates must be endorsed by a two-thirds majority of a quorum of the Selection Committee returning ballots to be approved for membership in the series.
6. Successful candidates shall be notified by the Executive Director of their membership in the Series no later than August 20 of each year.

Individuals who are approved for membership in the Series shall receive a letter of congratulations and a certificate signed by the Chair of the Executive Board and the Executive Director, shall have their individual "Bio's" posted on the Industrial Technology Leadership Series on the NAIT web site, and shall be recognized at the annual NAIT conference.
