Attended the early conferences on Industrial Technology in Higher Education at Kent State University. A Charter member and the first Secretary Treasurer, National Association of Industrial Technology. Conducted the business meeting at which the NAIT constitution was adopted.
Served as non-commissioned officer, U.S. Army occupation forces in Germany, 1945-47. One of six persons selected to read and index the evidence against the “Top Twenty-one” War Crimes Trial. Part time instructor, Machine Shop and Algebra, 1951-53, University of Wisconsin-Stout. Taught Industrial Arts and Algebra, Barron, Wisconsin, High School 1953-54. Instructor, Department of Industry, Millikin University, Decatur, Illinois, 1954-57. Instructor Department of Industrial Arts, Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Illinois, 1957. Developed Curriculum for Industrial Technology Degree, 1965. First Department Head, Department of Industrial Technology, 1967-75. Dean, School of Industrial Arts and Technology, 1970-75. Program Coordinator, Industrial Technology Program, School of Technology, 1978-92. Retired as Full Professor, 1992.
Elected to Epsilon Phi Tau, 1951. Life member, American Council of Industrial Arts Teacher Educators. Charter member, Eastern Illinois University chapter, Phi Delta Kappa. Chapter President and delegate to four biennial conferences. Member, Charleston Rotary Club. , 1967-70. Senior member, American Institute of Industrial Engineers, Society of Manufacturing Engineers and American Society for Quality Control. Faculty Advisor, student chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Served three years as chairman of the Danville Illinois Section, American Society for Quality Control.
Conducted Quality workshops and consulted with Hyster, TRW, Peterson Puritan, Baxter, Justrite and Midwest Foundry. Co-authored Quality Control Teaching Manual for Lakeland Community College, Mattoon, Illinois. Chaired Ninth Annual Convention of the National Association of Industrial Technology at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Illinois. Chaired three Accreditation Teams for the National Association of Industrial Technology.
Special awards include the Outstanding Professor of Industrial Technology Award in 1988; Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers in 1986; Outstanding Professor of Quality Award by the American Society for Quality Control in 1990. Listed in Who’s Who In the Midwest and Who’s Who in the Bicentennial Year.
